OKITKON SHELTER CABIN SECURED

A huge Quyanakpak is due to Kawerak’s Executive Board for approving a $15k donation in efforts to secure the displacement of the Village of Solomon’s Okitkon Shelter cabin. Over this last weekend, JT Sherman and crew were able to rent equipment from Bering Strait Development Company to move our cabin back to it’s home near the Iditarod Trail Marker.

We hope that, all the effort in bringing the shelter cabin back to it’s home - may help those winter travelers if needed.

We do not have the current status of the Satellite phone or the battery. We do know that firewood is needed.
