ATTN: VILLAGE OF SOLOMON TRIBAL CITIZENS!

We would like to offer 2 RT airfare tickets to Nome, Alaska to attend our BIG Annual Indigenous Peoples Day 'Celebrating Culture' event TO YOU - in contest form.

CONTEST ELIGIBILITY: Use your creativity to develop a visual in our opposition to the approved mining permit. This means, you can create a video, a skit, an illustrated story, a song/rap- we want to see your creative side WITH an emphasis on Village of Solomon. We want to embrace who we are, what the Bonanza Channel means to us as a tribe and we want to highlight this masterpiece at the upcoming event during a time where we can validate our local support in bonanza channel advocacy and protection.

As a day nationally recognized to celebrate Indigenous peoples, we want to ensure that we acknowledge the threat to us as a people and no better time than to address VOS' challenge than to highlight at a public event to ensure we are uniting in advocacy for our traditional lifestyle in Solomon, Alaska.

What we do not want: negative, bashing, bullying against IPOP, put downs, etc. Let's keep it profesh (we really want to focus on what being Indigenous means to us and how the Bonanza Channel and all it's glory is tied directly to us as a tribe.)

DEADLINE: Saturday 5 pm, October 5th, 2024.

Submit to deilah@villageofsolomon.org. Winner will be chosen by the Traditional Council (without bias/conflict). IF you enter the contest as a local in Nome- we will provide an alternative prize to you. We want to incentivize and support our community outside of Nome for our to date, biggest cultural event with an opportunity to participate if you reside outside of Nome.
